EFFECTIVE HYBRID MEETINGS DON’T HAPPEN BY ACCIDENT… NOBODY WILL TOLERATE A POORLY IMAGINED MEETING

Have you been hearing all the buzz about Hybrid Meetings? We have, and we are HERE. FOR. IT.  Not here for the buzz around hybrid (we’re sick of it too), we’re here for making hybrid really work.

The virtual world has been better (and worse) than we could have imagined.… we hacked and reimagined new ways to get work done—all while wearing sweatpants everyday.

The “virtual collaboration ONLY world” is coming to a close and we’re all craving some form of being in person again.   We’re seeing people rush to schedule the IRL meetings but lack a sense of urgency to intentionally design [link to Meetings as Experiences] that meeting.  Noone will tolerate a poorly imagined meeting at this stage of the game.

WE DON’T NEED ALL THE BUZZ AROUND HYBRID… WE NEED A NEW HYBRID PLAYBOOK.

We’re saying there is NO WAY we’re going back to the old ways of doing meetings before the pandemic. We’ve just learned too much.

THE NEW MEETING PLAYBOOK IS EMERGING… it will forever be HYBRID.

When done well, hybrid meetings allow us to combine what we’ve learned about virtual collaboration with what we’ve missed about meeting in person. We can leverage both meeting platforms to facilitate effective and meaningful collaboration and change efforts.

As you know, there’s nothing we love more than playing in the BOTH/AND sandbox, and we’ve had a blast experimenting with new Hybrid Models.

4 Things We’ve Learned in the Hybrid Sandbox:

  1. People are craving an opportunity to spend time together and do work that matters.  The better imagined the meeting, the better the outcome.
  2. We can transform our virtual conversations by using graphic facilitation and big picture thinking and bring those conversations to life by bringing them into the room in a big picture way.
  3. Intrepidly thoughtful use of the virtual space can make in-person meetings even more magical and impactful.
  4. Hybrid isn’t about simply slapping together virtual and in-person. It’s about intentionally choosing the aspects of each platform that best serve your vision and objectives.

We’re all planning meetings right now. We can help you take yours to the next level.

MORE ABOUT HYBRID

Hybrid Meetings: The Future of Collaboration

“The pandemic forced us to evolve our work habits, virtually overnight. As we begin to emerge from this global crisis, we have yet another opportunity to evolve, and our discomfort can lead to better solutions. Let’s not return to normal! Let’s ask a new question instead: How do we thoughtfully integrate the best of the “before times” with the best of these virtual-by-necessity times?” Read more.

Living Case Study: Strategy Story Hybrid Meeting

“It all goes back to design. When you design your hybrid meeting with Intentionality, it allows you to take many small steps many times before the in-person meeting, and then you use that meeting to connect them all. The strategy picture becomes real and tangible and clear.”  Read more.
